Our Summer Update Is Coming This Week

Different Breed's summer update is here with a new Help Centre, enhanced search, fan experience, and more!

We’re excited to announce the summer update for Different Breed.

We have been hard at work for the last few months, and it’s time to launch some new improvements to make the experience even better for both fans and event teams.


Release Date: Friday 10th July 2026


Say Hello To Your New Help Centre

Building on the great work we have done with Fan Guides, we are proud to bring to market an inclusive, multilingual Help Centre that lets you offer supporting content for fans to self-serve with.

The Help Centre is included in your subscription, works alongside your Fan Guides, and is referenced when fans search your guides. This means more queries are answered in self-service and fewer customer support cases are raised.

Of course, this feature is optional and can be easily enabled when you're ready to use it.

We will be running a webinar in the coming weeks to walk through the new Help Centre. Keep an eye out!


A Better Search Experience Is Here

We’re proud to bring to market a search that’s built for customer queries. Whether searching guide content or asking a question, we now accurately match the fan's query and direct them to the content they need.

This new search experience is available globally, either for a search across all Fan Guides and Help Centre articles, or as a pop-up within a guide to search its content and any supporting Help Centre articles.

Search is the glue that joins the Fan Guides & Help Centre experiences. We have designed this to ensure that if content is available, your fans can easily find it in self-service.


We Have Refreshed The Fan Experience

We have worked with our two lived-experience boards and have rolled out the following new updates:

  • Link Support On Banners: You can now add links to the Header and Footer banners on your guide landing page.

  • Language Selection: We have moved this from being embedded in the page to the experience's header and footer, making it simple for fans to find your content in their native language.

  • Landing Page: You can now set your preferred landing page for your fans within your profile settings. This can be set to navigate fans to your Fan Guides or Help Centre when they access your URL.

  • Language Support: We have updated the translations on the platform to now support English, Welsh, Spanish, French, and Norwegian, with more languages coming in future releases.

  • In-Guide Search: We have rolled out a new in-guide search using the new smart search functionality. Information is now much easier to find and access.


Your Web Address Structure Is Changing

Old: /~/guides/en | New: /en/guides

We have dropped the tilde (~) from your guides' URLs and now lead with the language of the experience. This allows us to offer a simpler navigation experience for fans while also aligning with a more friendly structure for search engines and AI.

What about my current URLs? You don’t need to change anything! Our system will automatically convert the old links you have already shared into the new structure, ensuring an uninterrupted experience.


Customise & Integrations Have Moved

  • Customise - Is now split between profile settings and the settings of each product you are within,

  • Integrations: Now live within the menu that opens when you click your avatar.

This change has freed up space in the top navigation and has centralised the customisation of each product we offer.


A Refreshed Editing Experience

  • Guides & Media Lists: Now show within a table, allowing more data to be presented on screen.

  • Archived Guides: Now show within their own section, separating guides by their status for easier management.

  • Language Selection: You can now enable/disable languages within your Fan Guides and Help Centre. Languages can now also be selected using a new language toggle at the top of each page, making it simple to swap between the content you create in each language.

  • Themes: "Customise" has been renamed to "Themes" in the navigation.

  • New Header: A new navigation has been rolled out, making links clearer and extending support for screen readers.

  • Wider Editing View: We have expanded the editing experience across the app, allowing you to see more content and metrics in a single scroll.


New Languages Are Available

Official support for Spanish, French, & Norwegian is now available for guides, articles and the platform's entire fan experience.


Bug Fixes & Improvements

Popular meme of a white cat turning off a leak, then patching a larger leak for the full room to fill with water, simulating the irony of fixing issues in a code base.

We have also addressed a number of small bugs and improvements reported by the community. A big thanks to Ryan Hopkins, Caryl Griffiths, and Dani Singer for the feedback!
